Message From the Blue Letters
The
acid test of a spiritual call to a place in the mysteries or to any real
enlistment in the work of the Lodge is the eager enthusiasm of the seeker for
continuing in a sharing of the steadiness he has achieved from his early
initiation, once he has been successful in a way that has meaning to those not
interested in the occult in the essentially complete solution of his more
personal problems. (BL 848)
A
true spiritual work is a magic mirror that reveals or makes manifest or
establishes whatever is put into it. (BL 848)
There
is a great deal that can be done here in the field of art, and no true religion
can exist without affording the worshiper the chance to merge an everyday
consciousness with some higher fellowship in an actual new creation of self in
a greater frame of reference. (BL 851)
Man
transcends the limitation, that if allowed to have a total dominance in his
life would destroy his basic identity, by never ceasing to nurse a sense of
magical self-creation within. (BL 851)
The Art of Play (“G”)
Conscious
control of experience depends on a realization of what things are first or
right, and what things contributory or secondary or left. (IX,
p. 26, last para.)
A
happy frame of mind is the key to all sorts of situations, and if life is to be
likened to a game of cards then its playing becomes a matter of the player’s
generalship or strategy.(X, p. 29, para. 4)
The Mosaic Covenant
(“E”)
He
shall not depend on circumstances to do for him what he has not the courage or
the conscience to do for himself. (IX, p. 27, para. 1)
Real living is real because it moves
constantly to the recurring social climax in which values may be tithed and
enjoyed in fellowship. (X, p. 30, para. 5)

Message From the Blue Letters
The
genius of spiritual channelship in man’s long history
is not provided by the higher inspiration, but by the entirely lower
perspiration and agonizing experiences of the channel that earns the guidance
by a conscious participation in a world destiny. (BL 1112)
