UPDATE FROM JOAN WILSON, CONFERENCE HOST:

I can’t believe our conference is almost here!  I have planned this for so long and I am so excited, I can hardly stand it and I so hope every one of you will join me!!!  This month’s points of interest are:

· Have you reserved your room at the Holiday Inn?  If not, be sure to mention the Sabian Assembly when making your reservation.  Rooms booked prior to June 1^st will cost the group rate of $79 + 8% occupancy tax ($85.32 per day).  Our group rate is available from Wednesday night through Monday night. 

• Have you mailed your registration form and check to David yet?  If so, thank you and I will see you there!  If not, please send your check, along with the registration form—including your Fellowship Lunch entrée selection(s)—to David Wilson, the conference Registrar, at 981 Prospect Avenue, Croydon, PA 19021.   Attached herewith is the conference registration form, for your convenience.

• As I mentioned in my previous update, the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs Exhibit’s final stop in this country is at the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia.  I have arranged a tour of the exhibit on Thursday morning, July 12^th, at 10 A.M.  If you are arriving on Wednesday and wish to join us on our high adventure, please call me or drop me a line to let me know.  Several conference attendees have offered to “car pool” to the Franklin Institute, which is ½ hour away from the hotel. 

• You can save a stamp and forward your check payable to Joan F. Wilson for $24.00 per person to David with your registration, or mail it to me as follows:

• If you are sending your registration at the same time to save a stamp, please send a separate check for the Tut Tour, as tour funds will go to the museum and will not be mingled with registration funds (we have a separate checking account for the Sabian Summer Conference).

• I need to make payment in full to the museum on May 31^st, so please let me know by May 25^th if you plan to come along.

The 2007 Sabian Assembly Summer Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Select in Claymont, Delaware from July 12-15^th.  Registration for the conference will be $50.00 per person and the daily group rate for hotel rooms is $79 + 8% occupancy tax ($85.32 per day).  Please be sure to mention the Sabian Assembly when reserving your room.  Scholarships are available; contact Lisa Callan (718-625-4340) or David Wilson (215-788-4658) for details.

HOTEL INFORMATION:  The Holiday Inn Select in Claymont, Delaware is located 12 miles from the Philadelphia International Airport.  The Apollo Restaurant and Lounge is on the lobby level and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Cuisines of every kind, for every pocketbook, are available nearby.  Parking is free and there is a fitness center, business center and an outdoor pool.  Please refer to the attached sheet for further hotel information and driving directions. 

FELLOWSHIP MEAL:  Lunch will be provided on Saturday at noon, see cover sheet for menu details.  Please choose a Free Fellowship Lunch entrée on the registration form below, so that I may advise the catering staff.

DEDICATION:  Elaine Trent and Stan Carnarius have requested that we bless their partnership with a Sabian Dedication conducted as part of our Summer Conference and attended by those already participating in the Conference.  The dedication will be held late Saturday afternoon, followed by their generous gift to us of a buffet dinner reception (menu details will be provided at a later date).  I am honored to be included in this joyous event and know that you will join me in wishing Elaine and Stan blessings and happiness.

ART & TALENT NIGHT:  It seems appropriate that the dinner reception be followed by our traditional Art & Talent Night.  Jocularity rules as Michael, Mo and Company present a look at the life and times of Swedenborg’s Tavern.  Musical contributions and sharings of every kind are welcome and encouraged! 

BOOK TABLE:  A table will be located in the rear of the conference room for book swaps, book sales and student giveaways.
